Shoulder

Anterior Shoulder Instability

The shoulder area is surrounded by a protective structure that prevents abnormal partial dislocation of the humerous and glenoid. Stretching or tearing of this area can result in abnormal slipage of the humerous and glenoid. Overhead arm activities like throwing a football can result in dead arm syndrome, which is a numbing of the entire arm. Treatments of this injury vary from exercise programs to surgery.

Glenoid

The part of the shoulder blade that creates the cup segment of the shoulder joint.

Rotator Cuff

The muscle group that helps move and secure the shoulder.
